Tara TM9 vs Girsan MC28

I'm quite impressed by my Girsan for the price point. Came with 3 mags I think too which is nice and extras were only $30ish. Trigger doesn't seem too bad but I have a Shadow 2 which has a great trigger. Fit and finish is fine but I do have a tiny issue with mags not dropping free on mine. I know what the issue is though and a few minutes filing or sanding should sort it out but I'm just waiting to see if wear will do the job for me. This isn't a huge problem though. Looking for holsters is easy too as more or less any M&P will work. Is it accurate? Depends...am I accurate? It does a good job, the issue is me really.

I bought a girsan mc28 recently and am VERY happy with it. It feels nicer than the M&P I've owned in the past.

one other thing to note, is aesthetically it looks way better in person, cameras dont tend to make it look flattering due to some of the angles not showing up properly, its a very nice looking gun.

i bought mine from Tenda for 279, i believe their price on it has gone up to 299 now, but still very much worth it.

Taras seems nice. build quality is good and I imagine its very reliable. HOWEVER it has a DAO trigger that is amazingly atrocious. That alone would make me prefer the Girsan. Or just save up another $100 or so and get a Canik.

Tara is DAO only on first shot. After first shot slowly release trigger and it will reset in about half an inch or less ready for next shoot.

Where did you get yours? I've only seen them offered with 2 mags.

No comparison! The Tara is not nearly the gun the Girsan is.

Dont waste your coin on the Tara.

Trigger sucks, action is no better and the finish on them leaves alot to be be desired.

Girsan makes quality stuff for the price.

Or save up a bit more and get a Canik. Thay are top of the Turkish pistol pile and well worth the money imo.

I considered the Tara as I don't have a polymer frame gun; however there have been some threads about problems with both the pistol and magazines. Until these issues get sorted out, I would leave it be. I ended up going in a completely different direction (chasing my brass around the range is a bit tiresome) and bought a Ruger GP100 revolver, and after shooting a few hundred rounds out of it yesterday, I find it accurate and pleasurable to shoot; the right choice for me right now.

That being said, I have no personal experience with the Girsan, but they have a great reputation, and if you like the feel of the Girsan, buy it!.

I am looking to buy a handgun

I have been considering a Tara TM9 or a Girsan MC28

Can anyone give me suggestions on these handguns
Is this your first or only handgun? If so, I would suggest you save another $150 and buy an M&P range kit. I'm not saying either of your choices is necessarily a bad choice, but good luck finding anything for either as far as parts and accessories go, holsters, mag carriers, sights etc. There is nothing more frustrating in the handgun world than not being able to find what you need for your gun, buy something with good factory and aftermarket support.

MC28 is ok. Canik looks similar, but is much nicer.

I sold my MC28 and bought 2 Caniks.

Marstar has them for less than $500.
This is the best advice right here^
I purchased 2 MC28 here in the states 1fullsize and 1 compact,Zenith was blowing them out at 229ea with 3 mags. The Canik is so superior in the hand and build for what amounts to $50 more in cost here in Texas anyway . TP9SF 1 series, which is the pistol case and 1 mag for $279-289 ea
Save a few $ s more and get the Canik !

They look pretty good, just checked them out. Is it just me or does the mag bottom/bumper look ridiculous? None of the lines or angles match the gun? Is it on backwards?
