Ok, so now I have some loads loaded up ready for the range, 243win-Hornady 75grain Hollow Point, Winchester Primers, COL 2.670, IMR 4350, with loads starting @43gr-45gr in .5 increments. Now, should I shoot them at 100 yards or move in closer like 50 or something just for testing a load for accuracy? What doyou reloaders do?

As long as you are sighted in, use 100 yds., that is the std. for comparing group sizes. For iron sights some prefer 50 yds.

100 yards. And if you find a promising load, test some at 200yards.

Unless you do all your hunting at 50 yards.......

Well it was sighted in for the store bought winchester 100grainers, but I have no idea where these will print on paper since they are new loads.

Who cares where they print as long as they hit paper? I would rather see a .2 group in the bottom corner of the paper than a 4 MOA group perfectly centered.

Ya, I figured as much that they wouldn't group with my other bullets, just figured that they might be way off the target somewhere. Well I guess its 100 yards then.

Go shooting off a bench with a solid rest at 100 yards. Shoot slowly and deliberately for group only. Allow barrel cooling time between strings. Change targets between strings of 5, mark the load on the target. Once you find the best group, load that and sight in about 3" high at 100. That'll put you on target out to about 300 yards with no hold over.
However, if you're not getting a group at 100 yards with the 100 grain ammo, you may want to look into the bedding, sights(make sure the scope screws are tight) and trigger too.

accuracy is measaured from 100 yards, but if you are sceptical of where your rounds will land, then absolutely feel free to shoot a few at a closer range to verify your scope is aligned.
This may save you the time and cost of blasting a few rounds and having a hard time finding where your shots went.
If everything is all lined up properly, then you have to go to 100 yards to see the quality of your work.

seating depth, ok?

I found out using a stoney point guage what the OAL would be and then I backed off 30 thous. would this be a good starting point, and would I be expecting pressure signs. The manual I got some info from has the OAL 2.600 and I set my reloads at 2.670. COuld seating the bullet closer to the lands and grooves be any concern, I wouldn't want to damage anything.
