So here is the deal, I bought a Bereta A400 xtreme unico q few years ago and broke it in according to the procedures outlined in the owners manual and have goose hunted a few seasons and also shot a lot of slugs and buck shot trough it but she still won't cycle target loads. I've tried to contact Bereta to no avail by email.

Anyone have suggestions? Should I even bother with Bereta? Anyone have a phone number that I can call and get a hold of someone that can help me? Should I just find a gunsmith? Or is there anything I can do about it?

If its the walmart specials thats not uncommon, even my O/U won't always eject those. If its AA's or Topguns then it could be your compensating gas system is at fault and may need to be looked at.

When you say it "doesn't cycle" specifically what is it doing and not doing. What target loads are you using? Anything less than a 3 dram 1-1/8 ounce target load may not cycle the action. The gun wasn't designed as a target gun and light loads don't always work.

How clean and well lubricated is the gun? Every Beretta auto I've owned or played with does not like to be shot dry. It may also be that the gas ports in the barrel are a bit clogged. Take a drill bit and clean the ports by hand with it.

Clean or dirty, it doesn't make a difference. Sometimes it won't eject sometimes it will half eject sometimes it won't load the next shel. I've use a verity of different brands of 2 3/4 to no avail. They claim that it will cycle anything from the lightest of target loads to the magnums so I'm hoping that it's something that I can get fixed

I have never had this problem with mine...It has cycled everything put through it...Maybe try a different brand of shells and see if that works. Otherwise I would be writing Stoeger Canada, I believe they are the importers

Stoeger is the importer and warranty center for the Beretta group you can call 1-800-263-1945 to find out what to do plus they even have a warranty form on their site you can fill in. I picked up a spring for my old Beretta A303 from them and one for my buddy's Benelli with no problems. Hope this helps.

Mine will cycle 1oz game loads but won't lock the bolt back on target loads. It doesn't really bother me as I use it for hunting if I shoot trap it is only one shot. I did clean the hell out of after last season but haven't tried it since. The bolt did seem to be smoother after a really good cleaning.

I think you're gun should be able to cycle target loads no problem. I reload 3/4 oz loads with 16 grains of 700X and have no problems with the function of the gun. Something is going on.
