Well "Big Mouth", I don't see that you shot ANY quality shells over the pond. You are probably one that shoots was is a bargain; the cheapest that is around. As previously mentioned, that is fine for skeet or skeet-in-the woods- target. For the serious competitor, a full cup wad that protects all the pellets, a slightly harder antimony based lead pellet to prevent deformation and a consistent and reliable powder charge would ensure consisten patterns and velocity!

I have shot a large number of Euro manufactured shotshells, everything from Mary Arm (Cheditte), Nobel (Italy), Winchester (Italy), Lyavadale (a favorite), Gamebore, Borgani (another favorite), Fiocchi, B&G (another good one),Clever Mirage (Grand Italia was fantastic this year!!) among some others. I have patterned a good number of shells. In NA, the Federal paper 2 3/4 dram stuff is the best patterning shotshel in my 391 Gold Sporting or the DT10L! In Europe over the years, I could not pattern shells. But, I did shoot a number of different shells over the same Compak (5-stand) toget an idea on breaks. While subjective, on the same targets some did produce much better breaks than others. Usually the cheaper and faster shells , did not smoke the longer targets. The faster shells were more impressive at close range (less than 25 yards). The slower and better shells had better breaks at longer distances. This was confirmed using 1 Oz loads at the World FITASC this year!
There are more shells sold on opening of ducks in ANY state compared to the WHOLE year of target loads! The reverse is the truth in Europe. Also, there are many more shell assemblers than there are in NA. Therefore there is much more competiton for the target shooter market!

See you in 2006: Morocco, Italy, US and of course Canada!
