Target shooting trainers in Victoria, BC

I'd help but I am in Ontario. Just remember the "Big 4" and you'll progess well.....

Grip - Firm pressure, but not too hard. Most of the pressure is going to come from your support hand. Be sure that the pressure is applied from front to back and not side to side.

Stance - Get comfortable and keep good posture. Make sure your stable and not leaning backwards or forwards. Bend your knees slightly if your interested in a more tactical stance. Lift the gun up to your eye level, don't dip your head down to find the sights. You stay where you are and move the gun up to the proper level.

Sight Alignment - Stare a hole through your front sight, that is where your main focus should be. Your target should be blurry and so should the rear sights. Make sure your front sight is level with the rear sights and that there is equal light on both sides of the front sight in between the rear sights. "Equal Height, Equal Light"

Trigger control - The most important of them all. Make sure you SQUEEZE the trigger instead of "Pulling" it. If your start snapping the trigger your shots are not going to go where you're aiming. Take your time at first and just apply a constant pressure to the trigger and let the gun fire when it is ready. You can increase your speed once you are confident with your accuracy.

Sorry, pistol target shooting, both rimfire and centrefire and I am not sure what you mean by the last part, I am after all still a noob!

Well, my wife and I go up the Malaht to shoot sometimes and we don't mind taking newbies along. :)

My boys will be home from the oil patch this weekend (no work) so I expect we'll be going shooting soon.

I'm not a trainer but I can impart the safety essentials and range etiquette etc. but I want to know, have you fired a pistol before? If we go, you would need your own ammo and ear and eye protection and your firearms.

I run a dojo and I'm putting a dojo shooting party together for March, sometime, if that helps.

email me, ok?

Ya, I have shot pistols before as I own 2 of them. I am really just trying to get some pointers on becoming more accurate. I appreciate any help that has already been given and any future help that may come! Thanks
