Targeting

I'm sorry I don't follow you? Are you taking about a 22LR rifle? Judging from the price I would say yes. Jigger08 please be more specific. There are lot's of connaisseurs on this board, you just have to ask the right questions :)

Find yourself a used Cooey :)
I haven't had mine out yet, but folks swear by 'em, apparently they're dead accurate.

They are indeed accurate. I shot a lot of stuff with cooey's when I was a kid and made a lot of amazing shot's on small game with them, even with iron sight's. In fact I still have a closet full of Cooey's.

But I can't see myself bothering with them much anymore. Lately my interest has shifted more towards better .22's with heavier barrels, and more accuracy, and better workmanship, and the higher magnification AO riflescopes.

If your budget is $600 a CZ452 Varmint would be my choice. Excellent quality and value. I also swear by Izhmash rifles too. I have a Biathlon 7-2KO which I got for a great deal. Armrus is out of them or else I would have recommended that rifle. There is the Sobol but it's kinda still pricey.

I have a cooey model 600 that i may be willing to sell. It takes shorts, longs, and long rifle cartridges. I am not sure exactly how many of each it will feed (it is tube feed) but last time i was at the range with it (last week), i could easily fit 10 in there :). If you are interested i can send pics to you. The stock is somewhat beat up but it is still in good working condition :t

The cz-452 would be a good choice as well

Good luck!

It will depends on what sight you are going to use, if you want to use a set of target peep sight, then you better buy a used gun come with the sight, because the sight is very expensive, or you can buy a new Savage model that come with target sight and is around $350 at Whole sale sports. CZ 452 is a very accurate rifle but don't see any company make peep sight for them. Scope seems to be the only choice for a CZ 452.
Here is a link for the Savage:http://www.savagearms.com/markiifvt.htm
Hope this help. Trigun

I'm a big fan of the Anschutz rifle's too. They come in a lot of different style's and price ranges and there's a good chance my next .22 is going to be an Anschutz. You can sometime's find good deals on these one's used too.
I can highly recommend Illingworth Imports. Great people to deal with.

What rules/guidelines do you have to meet? Sights?
Assuming scoped.
If you want new, the CZ is the best gun that will meet your budget.
Personally, I'd pick up a used Walther for that price range.
Otherwise, a used Anschutz.
If you're talking offhand, probably a Anschutz or similar with a proper target stock.

Saw your post in Precision Rifles forum.
Your best bet is something with a proper target stock since I assume you will be shooting offhand.
For something unusual, a BSA International Martini would be under your price limit and different from anything on the firing line. And very competitive. A BSA 8 or 12 would be cheaper still. Tough to scope though.
One of the models of Anschutz 64, a Brno 3 or 4, or a Walther with a target stock. The Walther would be the best but not likely under $600.
A bit cheaper but almost as good would be a Winchester 75 or Remington 540 or 513T.

Depends on your daughter's age but anything that would be heavy enough for good offhand shooting will be too heavy for your daughter. Buy a cheap single shot for her - lots around. My 12 year old daughter likes single shots better than clips, doesn't like stopping to fill the clip.
Course, the "cheap single shot" may not work - my daughter has picked out my pre-war Mauser ES340b with Weaver K10 scope as "her" gun.

Let's start now Khalnath.
