I used to have a similar model, optically and functionaly it was fine (used on my rimfire) but I found the dot hard to see outside in bright sun especially on whit backgrounds.

I just bought one for my deer rifle. I'll likely take it to the range tomorrow if I have time. It looks pretty solid, I wish it had the optional green dot like the bushnell does but we'll see.

I thought Tasco had a crappy rep for anything but rimfire? I remember hearing something about the LED for the red dots losing their zero, but I have no idea which model it may have been.

I have one and its not all that great. Like was stated the dot washes out in the sun and its huge in the dark. It is probably a bit overpriced for what it is.

I finally got that tasco to the range. accuracy was pretty much what you'd expect for a 5moa dot. 6 inches at 100 yds from a rest and about 8 inches off hand. It would likely do better but my shoulder was hamburger by the time I got it dialed in. It seemed to be taking the recoil better than my shoulder with the original metal buttplate slapping me silly. I took three quick snap shots at 25 yds on the handgun range and was impressed with this group. I'll try it this year but I think I might have been happier with the bushnell 1x32.

It was easy to see when set at a higher setting like 8 (it was pretty sunny). The rifle is a .270 that is in need of a softer buttplate.
