Okay, decent price from cambodian tire.. BUT, is it junk? Got a 100.00 gift card to burn through. Price caught my eye first, but it is tasco...

Does anyone have one, other than the guy from Calgary who reviewed the product on the cambodian tire webpage?

I bought the brunton 440 from canadian tire couple years ago when they were on for $99. No complaints, not expecting super quality but it works great for bow hunting and ranging 3-400yds for rifle it does the job nicely. I'd expect the tasco to be in the same category

It's CrappyTire. They're pretty lenient with their return policy so try it for a day and see if it's junk, then return it. I'd think it would be somewhat respectable since it's by Tasco.

I bought one yesterday, works ok, burn the 9 v battery out about 30 target.
200y for deer, 400 for trees and 600 max. if you cannot find something reflective close to the deer and he is over 200y, then this range finder is not for you. 200y is point blank for most deer rifle, so the usage is very limited.

sounds like the batt runs out after finding the range of something 30 times.
