Does anyone know where to buy handgun parts for Taurus pistol. I'm looking for a Taurus PT-99 rear sight and did not find anything on internet, my local gunsmith try directly with Taurus and they ask me to buy the complete slide, they can't sell me only the rear sight blade... so could you help me???

you'd be better off buying an after market sight..
I have a PT-99 as well and although I love shooting it, I don't much anymore.
I had a discussion with Robert Crescenzi (customer service manager for Taurus USA) at SHOT in Orlando about the lack of customer support in Canada.
He gave me his business card and said to contact him. I tried the e-mail address he gave me..it bounced.
I tried calling and got the transfer you run around.

Yup, next to impossible to get parts or service in Canada. I bought a Raging Bull 2 years ago from a well know Alberta dealer. I fired about 6 boxes of shells and the hand broke, end broke right off.

I called the store and they said bring it in. Took it in and 3 weeks later they called me back saying that the hand was broken and they were going to order a part. (Very speedy service)

1 month later I called them and they gave me the usual run around about having a hard time finding the part, customs the usual.

I called Taurus USA and they said send the pistol back for repairs and as soon as I mentioned I was from Canada they dropped me like a hot potato.

To make a more aggravated long story short, the pistol sat at the dealers for 5 months (many calls etc.) and I finally had enough.

I called my cousin in Oregon and he ordered the part and then forwarded it on to me. It took exactly 11 days from the point I called my cousin till it was in my hand.

Took the part into the dealers on a Monday(should have seen the look on his face) and I said if I do not have the pistol in my hand by Friday I am going to go Ape S**T.

Wednesday they called and said it was ready.

I fired one more box to make sure that it was working good and I sold it. I have since sold my other two Taurus products and I will never buy one again until they have a warranty depot in Canada. Like that is ever going to happen.

And this is why I don't buy Taurus. I was close to buying a Raging Bull, but not after I heard a couple stories like this.

Forgot to add that you can try http://www.westerngunparts.com/

They are about it in Canada unless a gunsmith has an extra one laying around.

Only other alternative you have is to contact someone in the states and have them purchase it from Taurus and then forward it on to you.

Have you tried the various parts dealers in the states? Most will not ship to Canada but a few will. :kickInTheNuts:

If the Taurus company can sell the firearm in Canada then there is NO EXCUSE for there not to be well a stocked parts department at a Taurus dealer in Canada.Guns that don't work make lousy clubs.I won't ever think of buying one until they can be fixed here in a timely manner.

Which of course will not sell to the average Joe and will only sell to an authorized dealer. Checked with Nichols and was told they were all out of the part that I needed and I would have to get my authorized dealer to phone them and order the part, shouldn't take more than 2 months to get .
After the guy on the phone explained this to me I was hung up on, almost like what the F*** are you calling me for type attitude. :kickInTheNuts:

This was 18 months ago so since then things might have changed but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Nichols will not even sell parts to an authorized Taurus dealer....
My go round with them resulted in parts being ordered through a dealer over six years ago and NEVER delivered to the dealer.

I seem to remember a couple of other threads, just like this one, with the same cast of characters, over the past several years, so, unfortunately, this is not new.

Never said it was. Just this time I'm going to write Mr Crescenzi and try and get the ball rolling.
I'm hoping there will be enough feedback in the other thread to send him the link.

We've received our first shipment of guns from Taurus, and I'm working on a list of parts to try to get. If you get a chance please email what you're looking for and / or drop by this thread...

Taurus is adamant that we can't retail guns or mags, I doubt that they will have a problem with us retailing repair parts.

If you can get parts that is good news for some Taurus owners.
Do you honor the Taurus lifetime warranty?

I'm not a Taurus owner (partly because of this problem) but I've seen the Taurus problem come up quite a few times here on CGN over the years. In fact, one of our US members (John Sukey?) even has a sig. line complaining about it.

Perhaps someone should collect all the posts complaining about their (and R. Nichols) non-service, print them out and put them in a registered letter directly to Mr. Crescenzi.

:) Stuart

Are you a distributor for them now Sean?

I told him that R Nichols was killing what little business they had up here.
He claimed to have never heard any complaints regarding them.
When I e-mailed him I sent the link to one of the many threads here complaining about them..
that is the purpose of my other thread..to hopefully get some feedback from people who have tried to deal with R Nichols.
I haven't as my PT99 hasn't had any issues.
I did try and order some grip screws from Taurus a few years ago..
I was told they were in the mail...wanna guess if I received them yet?
