I don't know how much they've changed but I have a Rossi/Garcia pump. I found the trigger pull ok, workmanship ok, finish ok, action fairly smooth. But what I didn't care for is no easy provision for mounting a scope though I think you can order a special mount from Taurus. And I found the big squared blocky sights somewhat undesirable, for my taste anyway. Those sights make it hard for me to tell how accurate the gun really is. Fun plinking gun but not my choice for hunting purposes.
I think there is some sort of aperature sight you can add to the Taurus. I had a Rossi 62sa and what I liked about it (that the Taurus can't do) is shooting shorts and cb's. Personally, I don't think I'd be interested in one that couldn't cycle shorts. Also, I hear the new Taurus has some annoying safety added that most folks dislike.
