PROS
- Looks like it can shoot down planets
- Apparently the only Taurus product that is considered reliable pretty much across the board (queue horror stories)
- Reasonable price for a .44 Magnum
CONS
- Double action trigger stacks, from the samples I've handled and fired. In the middle and before the trigger breaks, the pull is inconsistent. I'm not impressed with the double action trigger. Some would ask why it matters, since they apparently shoot their DA .44s in SA. If I wanted to do that, I would buy a Ruger Blackhawk and be 100% satisfied with owning a super-badass gun. But if I was a DA .44, I'm buying it to shot in DA most of the time.
- Porting. This is sort of a pro and a con. Do you shoot lead bullets? If so, these can get fouled up and cause some unpleasant spray. Do you shoot indoors? Because these ports are incredibly loud. Some people like it, some hate it. Personally, I can live without it, but it wasn't a dealbreaker.
That's the only feedback I have for you. I was going to buy one but to be honest, the trigger deflated my hype. I bought a bunch of reloading components to load my .357s hot instead. But, by all means, try to find and handle one before you buy; if you're stuck with a blind buy and don't like it, you could probably flip it pretty quickly without much loss, if any.
