I have a stainless Raging Bull in .44mag  (btw they don't come in .357mag)

Never had any problems with it; very accurate, nice trigger, the finish is great too (in SS). Porting does helps with recoil a LOT! I kinda want a 5" model but it only comes in .454casull and costs $200-300 more :(

EDIT: this is another members gun/photo... I saved it becasue I love how it makes the desert eagle look tiny (yes there's a DE back there) :)

Taurus firearms are ok for the price. However, if you want a .357, look into the Ruger GP 100. Nothing beats it for strength or ease of doing a trigger job.
Be advised that any porting significantly increases the muzzle blast and noise for the shooter and anyone close by.

I also have the Raging Bull but in 454 Casull. The porting and grips make that cannon quite comfortable to shoot. It is a very accurate and reliable gun for sure. There is some hesitancy towards Taurus in the Canadian marketplace due to a lack of reliable post sale service, but they are making some very nice guns now days. A few years ago it would have been a different story as their reputation was not very good at all but they have made huge changes to their products and are very well received. As far as 357 is concerned, yes the Taurus has some pretty nice looking guns, but for similar pricing u can indeed look at the GP100 from Ruger which is an excellent gun. One cannot forget about the S&W 586 or 686 which are also outstanding and the S&W owners will be all sad and miffed if they didnt get a mention(I am also one, so thats okay too).
Find a dealer with them in stock and actually heft a couple of them. Looks mean squat when it comes to comfort and how it fits your hand.
Good luck

I love my Taurus's, I'm best with my 357, but all are pretty accuate. The 44mag is definitely the loudest by far. I've been trying to get a factory grip for the 357 for a year, talked to Taurus directly and still no luck.

Wow!

Very nice collection !

Really thinking alot about buying a Tracker in 357. With the value of the Canadian currency, the 2008 prices should be a little lower:p
