I purchased an early Taurus PT111; the PT 111 is a great idea but the worst handgun that I have ever bought. The trigger is so heavy that I cannot get the gun to group at 5 yards. No accuracy at 5 yards is unacceptable to me. I called Taurus, they acknowledged the problem, and said they would do nothing about it. Taurus basically said: "Oh, well." Now ask me if I will ever buy another firearm from them. Regards, Richard:(

This should not come as a surprise...today's savvy consumer researches before they buy and are aware of a companys reputation....

A Taurus is not a Beretta or a S&W...just a collection of MIM parts put together to resemble a quality firearm....reverse engineering at it's worst....I'd take a Norinco any day.....ahhhh but your in the USA and cannot get a Norc.....too bad....gun laws on both sides of the border SUCK

That's all? You bought a early compact automatic and Taurus won't guarantee match accuracy? This is why Taurus has no costumer service?

OK, so they made model with less than perfect accuracy. I'm sure other manufacturers done the same at some point. Taurus makes many quality models for an affordable price.

My Taurus revolver has been great, I wouldn’t trade it for any Ruger or S&W. When the PT1911 comes out in stainless I’ll be getting one as well :)

Although the quality of the early Taurus' has changed significantly over the years, the issue of customer service for us here in Canada remains an issue. I also own some Taurus equipment and at one point was in need of a part for the Raging Bull. Taurus USA was absolutely no help at all and referred to their Canadian distributor. Nicholls was even worse saying they couldnt get parts and they would rather not carry the line at all. Hows that for customer service? At least we know that they treat everybody the same whether its Taurus or SIG. I have dealt with Taurus Brazil directly and had any issue resolved within days. I have been most impressed with the assistance received from the factory, however their distributor/service rep in this country is the biggest problem Taurus has. As long as folks cannot get satisfaction from those guys, the more damage it does to their product. It is my understanding that we may see some changes in the near future and I for one would be most pleased to see any change from what we have now.
Cheers

IM_Lugger, years ago I bought a Ruger P85 MKII that was inaccurate. I called Ruger, sent the pistol to them, they laser sighted it, and it has been on the mark since. That is customer service. In regard to the PT 111, I do not know if it is accurate because its trigger is so bad that it prohibits good shooting. Lastly, I started this string as another member asked about my signature line. Regards, Richard :D
