Tavor 5.56mm??

I got my Tavor some time back and noticed unlike its mil spec counter part it is stamped for .223 Ive heard more than once 5.56 should not be used in a .223 stamped rifle. is this the case with my Tavor? Or is it really a 5.56 like the mil spec verson and stamped .223 to simplify ammo purchases for civilians.
