I was at the range a couple of days ago with my Tavor and something a little odd happened. I was three rounds into my first mag of the day when I heard a noticibly louder report ( no difference in felt recoil) and when the brass ejected it hit my right shoulder. Hard! I was shooting norinco yellow box.

I don't have much experience with this rifle yet (less than 1000rnds) but I've never been hit with brass before. I cleaned and inspected it, no damage found. 250rnds yesterday with no problems. Has anyone else had a similar experience ?

Odd indeed... the hotter rounds (ie: 5.56 vs 223) generally eject at a much tighter angle to the front side - hence lefty shooters don't get brass in the face with 5.56.

Could maybe be the other way round, less powder. Always good to clear and check the barrel.
Happened to a buddy of mine with reloads in a handgun. Round stopped mid barrel and followup shot created a nice bulge.
