When I look through the plastic "iron" sights on my Tavor I can see a sort of blurry shadow comin up from the bottom of my aperture. I am assuming this is glare or maybe my bad eyes but I don't really get it on my matte metal iron sights I have on other rifles. Is this normal or is this just my stigmatism making my sight blurred?

I am going to try burning a piece of rubber under the rear sight to blacken it but I don't know if that works with plastic sights. I have a scope on the rifle so he BUIS arent essential but it would be nice if I could use them better.

I wouldn't burn rubber onto the sight. I'd recommend removing any oil and then trying it. If you still find you need the sight "subdued" then go to a hobby store or anywhere that sells plastic models. Pick up a small model paintbrush and flat mat black model paint. Testors is the cheapest and most available. While the other brands such as humbrol are better it won't matter for your purposes.

This way you don't ruin your sight and if you ever go to sell it won't detract from the value.

Well TV it's not super noticeabl and it might just be my eyes. It's just like a grey blur/shadow that makes a half moon shape in the bottom half of my aperture. The sight is still usable it just makes it a bit harder to see the target.

Epoxy7 I will try cleaning the aperture and if that doesn't work I will try the matte paint idea.

I just checked mine. I've got the version with the factory rail that has a flip up rear sight. With the front flipped up and the back you've got simple "iron sights". The plastic is mat black but oil was on mine. I wiped it off etc. I found yes mine does the same thing. Doesn't really matter though since the front sight is still very easy to pick up.

I checked my pistols and they don't do this. You're right it's a slight glare/haze of some sort around the back sight. It could be the slight reflection from the plastic but I also noticed the V cut with the sight opening up away from the shooter may be letting in more light. I compared it to my pistols and they don't V out as much. So it may simply be a result of the design and slight reflection from the plastic.

So no it's not your eyes.

Oh and here's my reccommendation for fixing it: :D Yes put optics on the rail!!

I was considering the bottom rail with the FAB defence bipod grip as well. I'll be trying one out on my RFB first.

One thing to look into are those PMags. I was going to get some but have read there is a problem with them in the SCAR and Tavor unless you modify them.

I heard that the problem with the P-mags is that part of the mag body pushes up on the bolt catch which causes the bolt to wear. This may happen on the SCAR or some other rifles but I have looked closely at my Tavor and I don't think it's an issue.

Epoxy7 have you tried that FAB Defence foregrip/bipod? I had mine on my Cz-858 before this and I love it. It's a bit bulky but you can stand on it when it's deployed and it won't break. The light is nice too. I would like to try a Grip-pod for comparison.
