Tavor Challenges - Charging Rod Bent/Damaged?

Happen to me as well, I bent the charging rod and chip exactly as the picture, I straighten it back and working fine until now. It's a good idea to have a speak, Thanks to person for the phone number.

Would have never happened had you of bought a t97

I was waiting for that... LoL, some of us enjoy finer things in life... The T97 is a P.O.S.... And my conclusion is based on having owned both... They are not even in the same league.

Yea I have ordered the key online, $20, no big cost.

Waiting to hear back from North Silva on replacement parts for the rod.

Thanks for the feedback all. I did not realize that the barrel lock would cause that type of damage. The reason I had jumped ahead to that step is I lacked the 2mm Allen key to take the side rail off =/

Overall I agree, however it's pretty common knowledge that the T97 is better suited for Dirt Defense. :)

Israel and China. I wonder who fields more bullpups .

I trust the equipment of the army that actually cares when an infrantry man dies in action, not the army where their biggest strategy is the rolling human wave.

I have also owned both at the same time, guess which rifle I still own and which rifle I sold on the EE after 6 weeks...

Can you remove the barrel with the picatinny rail still attached to the gas section/barrel (after the guide rod has been removed of course)? I know TV had posted a pic of two barrels with optics still on them side by side and it looks like the gen 1 with the short rail will come out, but will the full size pic rail come out with the barrel without removing it?

The short answer is "no" with the current full length rail. If the charging handle assembly cannot be completely pulled out, the barrel lock shouldn't be touched.

If you have a short rail, like the older Gen does, the charging handle assembly can be pulled out without having the rail removed.
