For those who are ordering considering the Tavor, how many are ordering the shorter Commando version?

The nonrestricted one still looks pretty short to me.

Of the hundreds of guns ordered I believe only about 5 were shorties, all members of CGN. Most want to be able to walk in the bush with it.

CanAm,
Your website says delivery date "early 2008". Is that for Tavor's ordered today or is that a new delivery date for the first pre-ordered batch to come in?

Just a general date for the arrival of the first batch. Assuming no situation in the mid-East.

Mmm... the short one looks pretty hardcore in the future weapons video though!!!

The Non-restricted one is still shorter than a 14.5" AR though!!! it's ####in awesome!

I feel sooooooo privileged to be one of the 5 in Canada.....:p

can you do any thing about the price thou?
im still holding out for the RX4 storm, first one to get them in is who im byin from, wifey already said yes to it :)

I thought that we were suppose to get them this fall? I guess that I may have to spend my money another direction.. and start saving again. Hmm what to buy. Maybe I should bid on that unimog on ebay?

Yes, we could give them away for free.

better yet canam you need to give him $500.00 cash and the rifle for free

I do agree they are expensive ive owned most of the smgs that we could over the years and they were all WAY overpriced for what they were (stamped sheet metal)

personally id rather stick with the ar's ill get 2 or 3 more instead of the tavor
but hey even ar's are over priced here but then again what isnt in canada???

It's too bad we don't have any gas piston AR's up here in Canada. So easy to clean and have all the AR goodies too.

For me the Tavor is competing with the Swiss Arms CQB....short, relatively light weapon. However, the Tavor is unrestricted, has a longer barrel...better ballistics, and uses AR mags (10 rounds). Tough to decide!!!!
The 16" Tavor is restricted yet looks so cool. The longer barrel does gives it a more elegant look, like the AUG

I don't think the CQB and the TAVOR are competing. They are very different animals. While you can stick a CQB in a backpack for cool factor, you have a pathetic 8.9" barrel which is pretty much at the limit for a 556. The CQB is a specialized tool while the TAVOR is a rifle for the big army. They are employed for different purposes.

I was also weighing both of these guns until I tried the Tavor. The CQB is very loud and I don't think you'd get as much fun out of it as the Tavor at the range.

10 round mags and non-restricted is huge too. The CQB does look awesome though!! :)

i dont mean to sound gready i just cant tell my wife a good reason for 3000 on a rifle, 1500+ tax is good

nice pic rob! man that thing really is a nice package....i bet those shorties are about the same length when the stocks are extended too

Hmmm...that's a factor too. Even with plugs and muffs, don't want to subject yourself to too loud a blast.
