youre a bit late to the party...
well better late than never...
You been shooting 5 rounds all those years?
pistol mags = 10 rounds
beowulf mags = 15 rounds
yes all 100% legal

I just bought a Tavor today; first problem, only 1 mag. So I want more mags. If there are mags available that hold 10, 20 rounds whatever, I'm interested.

I don't know sh*t about pistol mag loophole, but I'm all in, if that gets me 10 rounders.

And I got no clue about Beowulf mags. Who sells them?

Can't a Noob get some friggin' help around here!? Lol!

Ok I'll try to answer your question. Tavors use the same magazines as AR15s. Now there are lots of different AR magazines out there. The most common are aluminum bodied and typically called GI mags. They can only hold 5 rounds. There are also 10 round magazines, that have a very short body. These are typically labled as XCR or AR pistol mags. They are allowed to hold 10 rounds due to the rule that magazines designed specifically for a pistol are permitted to hold 10 rounds these magazines are only large enough to hold 10 rounds while most others are physically capable of holding more (usually 30) but are required by law to be restricted, usually with a rivet, to 5 rounds capacity.

Now it starts to get complicated. Somebody figured out that the law didn't say 5 rounds of 1 specific caliber. So since AR15s are available in a plethora of calibers somebody figured out that a magazine pinned to hold 5 rounds of .50 Beowulf ammunition, which is the physically largest caliber available in a normally functioning AR, would hold many more rounds of 5.56 yet still be legal under the Firearms Act. Consequently for people with AR15s, Tavors, and Robinson XCRs, all of which use the same magazines, these magazines have become very popular, since they usually hold around 15 rounds of 5.56.

The easiest magazines to find new for your rifle will likely be Magpul Pmags. But they will be restricted to 5 rounds unlike some of the other magazines listed. However they are easy to find and are usually available for under $30 per, which usually makes them the most affordable. New GI mags sometimes go on sale for under $20 a piece so they are worth scooping up when they come up, but they are also restricted to 5 rounds.

Hopefully this helps. It seems like reading comprehension has sunk to an all time low, here.

^ Thanks. Funny how people that know everything about this sorta stuff, just assume that everybody knows it.
Well I know sweet f'all about the issue, which is the reason I asked.

I definitely would prefer mags that hold 10 rounds. From the posts, sounds like the ATRS 10 rd pistol mags might be just what I'm looking for.

^ this link seems to be about 50 bmg mags!?

you will need to shave them a bit so that the bolt hold open doesnt contantly rub on the bolt. just use a small flaslight to check it, it should not lift, even by a small amount, the bolt open if there are still rounds in it, if it does, shave it off bit by bit. The part you need to shave off is the back U or V part.
Same with the atrs mags and probably pmags as well.
See that advice just saved you a bolt.

The PCV-50 are 5 round .50 beowulf magazines true , Just so happens you can also put in 14 rounds of .223 because the .50 beowulf is a caliber change on a AR-15 and since the Tavor and AR-15 use the same magazines they will fit a Tavor with the benefit of holding 14 .223 rounds while being perfectly legal in Canada because they are designated 5 round .50 magazines. Trust me I have 6 of them I own a Tavor in 300 rounds fired of .223 I have had zero feeding issues using them. Do a google search on beowulf magazines and read up on them :) Only reason I went with a semi auto was because of the extra .223 bullets you can use with beowulf magazines.
