I've been looking high and low for a Tavor, posted many trade ads, and called everywhere I could think of.

Then, I found one at my local Gun Store!

Props to JOJOPINTO for the great trade of my Vortex for his Eotech and a Burris AR Tripler.

Just getting the set up tweaked and the eye relief figured out. I got it all mounted late last night, range tonight!

Any input from The Tavor owners or general input on the magnifier set up?

I have an eotech without a magnifier that I have on my Tavor right now, and she does pretty damn good.

The magnifier question is an argument I have on a regular basis with buddies. I feel if you want power, you should buy a powered scope. 1-4s do great. But a red-dot is designed to be zero power with infinite eye relief, and a 3X attachment just kills that concept for me.

Its an argument I haven't decisively won though, so there's plenty of people who do like them.

Post pics! Sounds like you got a flattop model?

Magnifiers aren't so bad with an Eotech because the dot doesn't grow in size with the magnification due to the method in which the aiming image is visually transmitted to your eyes (holograms and lasers). It's a different story with true red dots like the Aimpoint or Doctor optics.

Doesn't having the BUIS that far back impact your cheek?
Just doesn't seem like there is much stock behind it (I shoot ARs on notch 0 or 1).

I keep my BUIS forward two or 3 slots on the pic rail. That was after spending some time experimenting with what kind of sized aperature I wanted and how close to my cheek I'd tolerate it.

But its a good thing you've got the flattop. Looks like its starting to get crowded up there!

Yep, flat top

I am unsure of the magnifier too. I run eotechs solo on my Kriss and 7.5 AR15. Time will tell what set up I decide to stick with on the Tavor.

More pictures when I get a spare minute.

That's good to know. Thanks.

You may be correct. I set up late last night. Hoping to get to the range tonight and experiment with some different set up options.

If I get a BUIS imprint on my cheek, I will post pics!

Yep. I may put this Eotech on another gun and get an EXPS shorty.

Thats an NEA handguard. They don't make them anymore (and had them on sale for a while there for like $199?) but you can still find them at The Shooting Edge. ($399 if I recall?)

I love all Tavors PBR, but I don't think I'd put an aluminum handrail on my own.

NEA is clearing them out on their website for $115.

I do like this guy: http://www .ltwerner.com/tavor.ltwerner/sights-eotech.phtml
but with an Exps2-2.

Great setup, I like it a lot. Yours seems to be quite far back, make sure you do not get hit!

Thanks For the ink Nic! I will play with mine and see what I come up with. I think you all are correct, mine needs to move forward
