Tavor OR SWISS ARMS PE 90

Those are 2 completely different Rifles.

Go for a FN from Questar

Nobody has Tavors in stock....................

I really really like the Tavor & I have paid for one in advance & am awaiting it's delivery... That being said, I have to agree with rivetc78, go with a rifle that is in stock...

Cheers

is that new FN2000 restricted???

Yes, the FN FS2000 is restricted. If you want a nice precision, military style, non-restricted rifle, get the Swiss Arms.

The Tavor and more-so the FN both have relatively heavy pull triggers. I believe you may be able to do something with the springs in the Tavor, but I don't think there is much you can do with the FN. They look pretty cool though. With the right optic, both rifles are capable of groups similar to the Swiss Arms.

The optic on the Tavor is "unsatisfactory" IMO - I certainly wasn't impressed with mine. I bought the tavor rail from Dlask to replace the OEM optic. Another anoying characteristic of the Tavor is that some of the residual gases from the ejected casing travel upwards right under your nose.

The FN has a lot of plastic components inside which makes me a little apprehensive, but so far, I've had no break-downs or failures. I enjoy owning and shooting all three, but my order of preference is Swiss Arms, Tavor and then FN.

I have both the Tavor and the PE-90. I'd get the PE-90. It's a more value for your $$$ rifle in terms of quality and accuracy.

PE90's are interesting looking but where do you get the ammo? I reload 223 so I'm inclined to get those types of calibers. Also Ar mag compatability is good. Tavor and SL-8 so far.....

Also non-restricted...very good!

With Canam's transparency I wouldn't expect to see Tavors until 2012.

Of the rifles in stock, the Swiss 550 is the most geared to target shooting. Excellent trigger, lots of optics solutions available, built in bipod and military-grade ruggedness. It also wins on the value scale, the Swiss guns just feel like quality.

The Tavor is a generic AR-18 style action in a plastic casing. Hardly $3000 worth of features.

I had a Tavor but sold it. It doubled, heavy trigger pull, the reflex sight had a big dot on it, and tended to wash out if you were in a shaded area shooting at a lighted area.

I used to own a 20" Swissarms but sold it too, too big for my needs.

I kept my Swissarms Carbines, 14.3" with iron sights, and 17.9" with flat top rail.

I really like my 14.3" Carbine with an Aimpoint M4 on top.
