Tavor pressure switch

Hey guys,

I just got a new weapon light and pressure switch for my tavor. I've mounted the light on the factory rail on the right side of the gun and I going to route the switch under the handguard and just above and forward of my magpul rvg. Just wondering what most of you do to mount the switch to the rifle. I currently have some electrical tape holding it but it looks pretty ghetto. I've thought about velcro but again , might look ghetto.

Any ideas?
 
What light did you get? I can't really help you here but I'm looking for some options, and I really like the idea of a pressure switch since the light is mounted on the right side of the tavor.
 
To be honest, I just ordered some Chinese light from eBay. It's STUPID bright and came with a mount and pressure switch for like 40$. I had to buy batteries for an additional 10$ but whatever. I wasn't about to spend 150$ on a flashlight that for me is truly more cosmetic than anything. But yeah, without a pressure switch, it's useless to mount a light on the standard rail.....even for cosmetic purposes ;-)
 
Who cares if it looks ghetto? As long as it works then what does it matter? I picked up a surefire m600p and it comes with Velcro to attach it to the firearm itself. Save yourself a couple of bucks on those fancy shmancy attachment options and put that money toward ammo :D.
 
I think the ideal place for a switch is just behind the handguard grip, where the right forefinger can reach. The problem is that mounting the switch there would leave a dangling cord. What to do about the dangling ccrd?

The cord wasnt long enough on mine that it was dangling. Its not super tight but its not hanging around the gun either. I will post a pic when I get home. What ive been trying to do is actually mount the switch at the factory "switch mount" in the handguard, but I havent really found a way.
 
I bought my Barska light/laser combo from Amazon. ca for like $67 and it came with the pressure switch and velcro to mount it.

I disagree. I'm using a off set mount, and it works a lot better than I thought it would.



My pointer finger lines up perfectly behind the switch when holding it Israeli style. But it might not be as easy for somebody with small hands.
Another thing is the shadow casted by the light is pretty minimal, you just see the tip of the flash hider.



My main reason for getting a light was because this is the rifle that keeps my family safe at night, and I think its foolish to not have a light on you home defence weapon. Looking cool is just a positive side effect.

Originally I wanted to do a pressure switch, but I really wanted to have it in the factory spot where the switch is for the Mepro sight. I still can't believe that nobody has made a light switch that'll go in that spot.
Until then I'll be sticking with what I got.
 
I have lights on a few rifles and for switches I use what is called servo tape I get mine from my roc hobby shop. ($9.99 for 7'X1")
A piece half a stamp in size have held switches on for well over a year (can't beat on it though)

Yeah to each there own. For me it's more about looks than function. I may do some low light shooting at my range this winter and them I will have a practical use for it. As for mounting it on the factory rail, I have an offset mount but it still doesn't work for me. I shoot this rifle North American combat style and not Israeli so it just don't work for me and I needed a pressure switch.

For me, it just wasn't worth it to buy an expensive light for what is essentially a range toy. I do agree on the home protection thing though. My 870 has a good light on it ;-)
