We have the option of adding a factory full length rail to the next shipment, less the BUIS. Which would you prefer? Pricing is roughly the same either way:

Is the full length rail made and factory installed by IWI ? what will the front of the rail be mounted to ? the upper hand guard ? looking at it makes me question its solidness . with the small rail you know it will stay good and tight forever because its mounted to the barrel itself .

I just have that pic from IWI, no more details at this time. All rails mount to the barrel in the same way.

Personally I think the long rails look extremely ugly. If you need the extra real estate then it might make sense, but most of us run our Tavor with the M21, Eotech, aimpoint etc, or with an AR mount and a scope. Unless you want Night vision or a red dot magnifier other than the one for the M21 then I don't see much point for the average consumer. I'm surprised so many people have chosen to go with the long rail.

The tritium BUIS on the Tavor are sweet. Im not a big fan of the Mepro21, and if I had an option to buy a Tavor for less without the optic I would be all over it. I have 2 Tavors and the best setup I've had so far is the NEA full rail which has the slot to still use the BUIS.

I should feel embarassed about my crappy iphone pics. But I'm not. Here's the factory rail that was the upgrade. For my needs the rail space works well. But then again I'm very conservative with what I put on my rifles. Oh and yes contrary to public opinion I actually do like the M21 for certain applications. I use one on my CX4 storm, and swap another one off my RFB and the Tavor. The factory rail allows you to use the front flip up sight along with one that pops up from the back of the rail after you remove your optic. It's pretty rudimentary but at that point I guess it's better than nothing. In reality I have no desire to shoot my Tavor with iron sights. I have other rifles set up for that.

I actually have a 1.5-5x Falcon scope to go on this rifle with the same mount. But... I thought I'd scavenge this one from the RFB to do some ammo testing with the Tavor. I was planning on going to the range today, but a minor cold/flue seems to have kept me house bound.

I believe this is the rail that CanAm was referring to as this or the long one.

my preference would for canam to not bring in any tavor other then the ones they have been bringing in for the last few years with the red dot. ;) this new tavor with the possibility of a factory long pik rail has just significantly devalued my tavor with a NEA rail kit on it. at least there will be more tavors in canada making them harder to take away from us in the future.

same thing happened when i bought my Nork M4. i paid a g note for it wich was a good deal at the time and then 2 months later its coming to canada for 600$. i am having terrible luck as of late with depreciation.

im sure there is a lesson to be learned here for me but im not sure what it is yet.

Wow what a great idea, I'm pretty sure I've seen something like that before... Lol

Obviously the flat top is superior the factory buis don't even compare to the cheapest ar buis and your options open up a heck of a lot more with this setup.
