Tavor soft case design ideas

We are currently in the process of designing a soft case for the Tavor

I am looking for ideas from owners

Here is what we have so far:

- rectangular low profile design
- 4 internal mag pouches
- molle or velcro field for add-ons (which?)
- external and internal flat pockets for docs, etc
- external ID window
- padded divider between gun and mags/accessories

Do you prefer a velcro handle wrap-around, or without

Material preference? Black Cordura is my first choice

The Beretta CX4 Storm case works perfectly. I'd use it as a base.

Soft case?

Yup soft case. It came with my Storm. My Storm has been made non restricted with a bull barrel and is now slightly longer than the Tavor. It now just barely fits. I just put the Tavor in to check, before posting earlier. Fits perfectly with the M21 sight on it. Should work with a medium sized optic as well. Oh and I had the mag in it (empty of course) when I tried it.

Also the zippers come together. I just used one of the action locks (wire with padlock) that came with a rifle. So you can lock it.

Criticism: not a lot of padding. But easy to carry. Here's a picture from the factory site:

-It would be nice if it had enough height to throw it in with a scope on it.
-Maybe line the inside out of that fuzzy fabric velcro sticks to so it could be strapped down. Or an AR could be broken down into to halves and securely put inside so neighbors get used to one case coming in and out of the house instead of several.
-make it square so it looks more like a big laptop bag than a wedge shaped gunbag looking thing
Use good straps and zippers, maybe make it FDE color with a different color strap so it looks more like a backpack and hides dirt/stains because its two colors like this versipack?

Done, 15" high enough?

I will check into it.

Yes, part of the plan

Black is the plan, but I will discuss colours with the plant.

im looking at some of the Bulldog bags for mine when i get it paid off. but would be very interested in one designed around the tavor.

just checked mine in one of the bulldog cases.. it don't fit. im gonna hafta find a case that will fit.

A backpack configuration would be nice. You could design some sort of faux antenna/tennis racket handle to slide over/cover the barrel sticking out the top.

Not to rain on CanAm's parade, but LeBaron has #81560 for sale at $45.
I don't mind paying more for quality and extra features, though. Not to mention that CanAm's case would prolly be canadian made, meaning I wouldn't be encouraging the chinese economy.

I finally figured out what hot-linking means

i don't see anything but the hard cases on that page that would fit the Tavor. the 800 series is no bigger than the bulldog one, and its to small top to bottom to fit the Rectangle profile of the Tavor.

Well, I went & picked up another version at LeBaron's. Even cheaper than the model 81560 I'd mentioned earlier.

This one's model 52141. $13.00 cheaper than the other one, made by Uncle Mike's and literally fits the Tavor with the non-railed M-21 like a glove. Meaning there's no room to spare. But it fits.

The specs say it's 10" high as compared to the model 81560 @ 13.5". I bought the 52141 knowing full well that if I ever get around to mounting the RT full-length rail and, for example, an Elcan DR, the case will no longer fit the rifle. If'n when that happens, I'll simply place an order for the Plano 81560 (it wasn't a stock item at LeBaron's in Montreal).
Check it out!

PS: Because the rifle won't fit in any of my cases, I smuggled it into LeBaron's to make sure it fit by draping my windbreaker over it. You shoulda seen the look of shock on the salesmen & some of the customers. Thank god the salesmen there knew me. I was bombarded with questions and statements such as "Hey, that's prohibited" or "Wow, that's restricted, isn't it?". What a gas.....:p
