Tavor vs. Groundhog Accuracy?

WOw... those are some great groups guys, thanks for the feedback! Its cool to see what everyone's doing with their rifles. I'm hoping to get my brother to mill me up an adapter for a back magnifier out of plastic so it wont scratch the molded in spring gizmo. ;););) So I can put an 4X side folding aimpoint back behind the rear BUS,but until I do I'll just stick with my cheesy scope. Thankfully I dont live in Saskatchewan anymore cause A: prairy dogs are way smaller than groundhogs :p and B my cheesy scope just couldn't handle the 2 or 3 weeks of extreme use.

anyone making home loads for theirs yet?

Give it a couple weeks and the OP will have a thread where we trouble shoot why he can't hit anything and it will turn out the be the scope.

P.S. Im not an OP, I dont even know what an OP is, Im just some vierdo with a cool gun collection, that wants to see what his new rifle will do, Im not going into afganerstan with a Tasco on my Tavor...

OP means Original Poster, or Originating Post, as in the person who started the thread. That would be you.

As I said, even just basic range use will probably break your scope. If it works for you, awesome but don't be surprised when it stops working in the middle of a range trip.

PS ground hogs are not MUCH bigger then prairie dogs. Richardson Ground squirrels (aka "gophers") yes. But hey, the explode real nice :)

And I do agree with you Armedsask, but I know that if I shelled out 3 large for a rifle I might be stuck with a bottom barrel pull off scope as well...then again with the Tavor, I'd probably stick with the MARs initially.

I am not having great luck with 77gr SMKs and H335. I thought the heavier bullets would be a better choice with a 1:7 twist, but the best I can get is roughly 1.85" at 100 yards. Someone else told me that once they went larger than 69gr their groups started opening up. Next attempt will be with 69gr SMKs.

Yes. They are right. I try 77GR BlackHill.and opening up to 1.28 @ 100M
(Not better than 55G BlackHill,)I got 0.89" @ 100M WITH 55gr BH.
Also 75GR Hand Load .i got 1.17"@ 100M.
69GR SMKs is 1.35@100M.
62GR PMC K100 is 1.41@ 100M
62gr WWB 1.95@ 100M
55GR UMC 2.38 @ 100M
55GR WWB 2.07@ 100M
55GR AE FMJ BT IS 3.11@100M
55GR Hornady TAP Urban is 1.06@100M.

The result is not same as AR.
MY AR 16" Barrel with 1:7 is best to shot heavy Bullet.
But Tavor look like better use light bullet.
( i know Tavor is I:7 also )
So. need more different weight bullet to try.
