Hi folks

Just wondering if any of you know of an alternative to a cable lock for the Tavor/X95. I had a situation where the bolt went forward and the cable got stuck so I am not keen on using cables. I have tried a few of the magwell locks, but they do not seem to fit. I also would not want to keep it in the safe as I want it in quick reach for when coyotes come around and mess with the dogs, which they frequently do.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Instead of locking the bolt back, after you insert the cable gently release and guide the bolt forward to rest on the cable. Then you just need to unlock, rack and remove.

Unfortunately I don't know of another alternative (have tried a few but nothing works).

I have a magazine lock that I used on my Tavor I had no issues with it, Considering how easy it is to pull the guts on the Tavor lock it up without the bolt in it takes less then 5 seconds to put it all back together when you want to go shooting

I ended up going a different way. I decided to build a display stand that is lockable with stuff I had laying around the house:

So here is what I did. I fixed an old mag to the base (Screws and Rivots and two L-Brackets).

Next I stacked rubber washers on top of each other and screwed that down on the base so the trigger guard would have a "soft" rest. I then used more L-Brackets, a pin and a lock to secure the Rifle to the base.

So once the rifle is placed onto the mag and the pin and lock is inserted, it can not be removed from the base. The empty mag is also locked into place.

So if I want to access it, I unlock the lock, and push the pin out. I hold the mag release down and lift it off the base. Takes about 5 seconds :)

Coyotes BEWARE!

Well that's entirely pointless. This is no different than leaving it unlocked in your front closet. You have not rendered it incapable of firing, and thus this does not legally qualify as locking/disabling your firearm.

Can't fire since you can't load it. I should probably have mentioned also that the mag has a metal piece inserted that prevents the bolt from going forward or a single round being loaded into the chamber
