Tavor x95 magazines

I use PMAGs and Crossmags mostly. I’ve never had any issues. I had some older steel LAR mags that didn’t hold the bolt open on last round (I don’t have them anymore and can’t remember the name brand).

Lancer mags are the best stanag mags imo. Lightest (polymer), strongest (steel feed lips), and easy identification of ammo type and qty (transparent).

Agreed. Also OP, C-products defense, D&H aluminum, and magpul gen 3 PMAG's are all good to go. Personally i'd invest in pmags, they can be had for a very good price if you get them on sale or are a diligent shopper online.

I've tested various different patterns of magazines. Overall my favourites are the Crossmags, Pmags, and Lancer. I've also had good results with IMI Defense, MFT (10rd pistol and 5/30), CPD & ASC pistol mags. I also have some ASC 10/30s that worked very well but on my last range trip, I was having some failures to feed with one of them, I need to look into that further before I can testify to their reliability.

I've also used the Tapco mag that came with my gun and a hexmag as well. Although they didn't malfunction I can't say I care very much for either of them.

For pistol mags, I would stick to Crossmag exclusively. If I could restart my magazine collection they would be the only pistol magazine I would use. I would probably keep one of my 10/30s as they are hard to find. The only problem I have with the Tavor and pistol mags is I find it nearly impossible to seat a full mag on a closed bolt. Downloading to 9rds solves this issue, at the range I simply manually lock open the bolt for the first magazine so it's not really a problem. Just something to keep in mind if you ever need to load the gun in a hurry I would store the gun with the bolt locked open or have a designated magazine downloaded to 9 rounds.

For 5 rounder rifle mags I would stay with pmags or Lancer mags. USGI (Steel or aluminum) are fine as well but I find Gen 2 pmags offer the best value for money as they can be often be found for a very affordable price.

As long as your Tavors aren't older than the IWI US batch. Gen 2 pmags can damage the bolt hold open lever. I had to file all of mine down to work properly.

Great info, great question OP. Where do we find pistol mags, preferably 10/20 or 10/30 rounders? Who's stocking these?

Personally I have used PMAGS 5/30 G2/G3 as well as C Products Defence LAR15 metal mags (Duramag). My personal preference is the LAR15s over the PMAGs, mostly for the lack of protrusion and more rounds available. But the issue in my X95 with any of the mags is it does not seat well with a full mag (even with vigorously slapping it upwards) on a closed bolt. I always have to reduce the rounds by 1-2 to get them to seat on a closed bolt - so figured if I have to do that, I may as well use the LAR15 which I already like anyway.
