Hello all,

Im new to the site, but hoping you all could give some advice. I've always wanted a semi auto rifle since I got out of the army in 2014. I missed the window to get something before the Liberals did the big gun ban in recent years. I Have my eye on the X95 Tavor. Do you guys think its worth getting? or would I get it and then be the victim of another round of arbitrary gun bans by Trudeau?. wasting the 3k to buy it

Thanks all

Not wasting your money...Tavor still has the NR status, so they can't take it away once you already have it.
Buy while you can and stock up on the mags too.

All guns especially semi autos are on the chopping block unfortunately, it’s hard to say what they will ban next after handguns
.

The X95 is a solid piece of kit. Controls are more AR like than the TAR21, though the bullpup configuration will take a bit of getting used to.

Who knows re: bans... Maybe wait a week and see who is our next benevolent dictator...

Tavor is a really well designed rifle. My one buddy loves his, my other buddy bought a T97 from Cabelas. Both Bullpups take lots of muscle memory training if you have shot ARs for years. The Tavor is a better design in regards to the safety, mounting points, accessories, and the mag release but the 1600.00 difference for the T97 allows for optics, sling, magazines, and a crate of ammo. Both have about the same accuracy and dependability. Really comes down to your budget, both rifles are very dependable. But with the Tavor at two and a half times the cost of the T97, of course it is a better design.
