Does anybody know a taxidermy around the GTA?
I have some deer hides I would like to tan .
I just got off the phone with proline taxidermy and they said that they don’t do deer this year?!

There is a place in Rockwood ON they are open on Saturdays 7-12 but when I called on several occasions an automated voice mail says that the call can’t be completed as dialed. I got no time to drive there to find out if they are still in business.

I took one in to the FHA Store in North Bay last fall. The hide had to be dried, stretched and scraped before they accepted it. I am getting it done hair on for my Son to put across his couch.

Not sure what it is going to cost me but I am sure it will not be cheap.

Should be ready in the new year.

I'm pretty sure Advanced Taxidermy and few others send the hides to Quebec to be tanned or at least they did in the past.

I want to get a soft coyote mount done with my best one after this winter, Not sure who to use.

I believe Advanced Taxidermy has plans to open their own tannery. My understanding is only Quebec and Alberta have tanneries.
If you’re just looking to have a hide tanned it probably will be cost prohibitive unless you can find a small time business that does it.
I wanted to get a coyote pelt done a couple years ago as part of a larger order and they advised they wouldn’t do it because it would cost too much.

That be nice if they did.

Landowner where I deer hunt loved the coyote pelt I got on his property so I had it professionally tanned for him (sent to quebec). Cost me almost $600 about 5 years ago. I wouldnt do that again, But it was really soft and perfectly done and worth it for a good huntin spot.
