Are they NR despite the shorter 18" length? Or is the barrel length fully 18.5" or is there some other rule that applies to these since they are single action?

It's a rifle not a pistol, and not semi-automatic so barrel length doesn't matter outside of overall length.

They're not semi-auto. Even if it was a double action I don't think barrel length would matter, but as a single action it definitely shouldn't. By definition a semi-automatic firearm uses energy from firing to cycle the action/ready another shot. Revolvers don't use energy from firing to do any of that stuff, your finger does that work not the gun.

From Regulations Prescribing Certain Firearms and Other Weapons, Components and Parts of Weapons, Accessories, Cartridge Magazines, Ammunition and Projectiles as Prohibited or Restricted
SOR/98-462:
1 In these Regulations, “semi-automatic”, in respect of a firearm, means a firearm that is equipped with a mechanism that, following the discharge of a cartridge, automatically operates to complete any part of the reloading cycle necessary to prepare for the discharge of the next cartridge.

Single Action, not built on a handgun frame , barrel length does not matter, only the overall length of the firearm. If you buy one and you are worried about getting questioned by LE, we can provide a copy of the FRT with your purchase.

That's great, thanks for the info, so in theory the barrel on these could be 11"? Since OAL is 35" and requirement is 26"... I'd buy a 12" version!

Though in all seriousness I've been eying these for a while and am very tempted. Thanks for bringing them in.

Just curious, do they make these things in .44 magnum? Something a little larger than .357 mag. I wonder if it could be used for a deer hunt. I know people do hunt with 357, but I would prefer a 44 mag.

Why would there be any gas anywhere around your face? The blast comes out of the gap at 90 degrees to the gun, nothing is getting back to the stock where your face should be...

But uh, how do you hold the thing? Where is your support hand supposed to go? Do you hold it like a really long barrel revolver with a stock? Lol

Huh... this is actually a great question lol that barrel would probably get pretty hot no? Maybe that's why the trigger guard has that little flare out so you can rest your off-hand index finger there for added stability haha

You'd normally be tempted to put your off hand further forward, but there's no forestock on this, the barrel will get warmish, and that puts your wrist beside the cylinder gap. Wearing long gloves or a piece of leather around your forearm might be indicated.
