Hey guys,

I am thinking of buying an Encore in .223 to replace my 11F. Does anyone have any experience with these rifles? I will mostly be doing varmint/pest control. Any tips on accurizing the Encores? What about a scope to put on it, any recomendations?

Thanks!

I had one and found it to be a unique rifle in the style of the stock and on how short the rifle was even with a 26" barrel but if you might have noticed I said HAD. I din't care for shooting it at the range because of the hassle of reloading, having to take it of the tripod to crack it open and reload compare to a bolt action. I found the space between the hammer and the scope a little tight when wearing glove and had to get a hammer spur to eliminate this problem, but had to be very careful when pulling the hammer back so it didn’t slip and have the rifle go off. To do it over again I wouldn’t have gone that route. Good luck with your Encore, just might work for you...

I had an Encore and sold it to buy a Pro Hunter.
You won't be dissapointed!
I have had many different barrels... I have a .204, 50cal and a slug barrel for the Pro Hunter.
Encores are quality firearms that perform flawlessly with extreme accuracy... no tweaking neccesary.

I also own one, It's a SS 209x50 M.L. with a blued .300WM bbl & a blued .204 Ruger bbl.
I love it(them), I shoot them regularly and have installed a SIMS Limbsaver recoil pad and a Syn thumbhole stock. My next bbl will either be a 308 or 270?

i'm assuming that the encore's are registered as non-
restricted. theses can be registered as a pistol as well
as the contender . my question is can you take like in my case a contender and re-register or get a rider or something of the sort to put a rifle stock and rifle barrel
on and go hunting????????

Encore

My encore is very accurate and i have several barrels none has dissappointed me.I have done nothing to it but shoot it and clean it so far. I recommend them. I like low mounted scopes with smaller objectives 40mm max. I quite recently got a high end burris with a 50mm bell and once in the high rings she was a bit to high for proper eye alignment for me. This dissappointed me but made someone else very happy.

Hey Sandy, how's the .300 treating you? Did you get a chance to take it out yet? Did you get your bear this season? Apologies for the hijack......just wondering........BTW best group so far with the .223 is 1 1/2"@300yds with 50gr TNT.

I have a PROHUNTER in 30.06 with the black flextech stock... 28" stainless fluted barrel look so sweet!

I use a leupold 4-12 x 40 vx-1 with LR duplex. leupold base and rings.

shoots so nice and very little recoil!
