I got a surprise delivery yesterday ... the TC Icon composite with weathershield (308) which was not expected until fall ... has arrived. That means, it should be ready to re-sell by fall.
This Icon is in a Hogue (black composite) stock which is very "soft" to the touch as opposed to the typical "hard plastic". It has a 24" free floated "premium" button rifled barrel that has the new "weathershield" finish which is supposed to be excellent protection from the elements. Muzzle diameter is 0.65". Rifle weight is 7 1/2lbs. Action is as smooth and feels like that of aTika. Single stack plastic detach magazine feeds flawlessly. Unlike the first Icons which had a butterknife bolt handle, this model has the knurled knob. Trigger is weight adjustable down to about 3lbs and breaks clean. Other features include the 5R rifling / one piece fat bolt / alum bedding block / integral weaver base rail. Factory target shot @ 100yds measures 0.7" C to C.
I did a 15 shot (shoot 1 and clean) break-in ... and then shot a 3 shot group @ 100M which measured 0.77" ..cleaned again...then shot a 5 shot group which measured 0.85" (four of the five in the last group created a large single hole which measured 0.34").
Tomorrow I start some load development and will post results when my busy schedule permits.
I hope to get a pic of the rifle posted during the next week. My wife who does the camera work, can't understand why I keep asking her to take pictures of the same rifle. Guess they all look the same!!!!

Ya, I played with them a few months ago and was impressed as well. Not sure why they only brought it out in short action though when they introduced a long action wood stock version this year. I'm sure we'll see the long-action/composite next year.
