Just wanting some feedback from the TC owners out there.

What is your overall impression? (cost is not one of my worries)

What is the trigger like and could it be adjusted?

Is the new style any different than the old style? how?

What is the fit of the rifle like?

accuracy?

take down and cleaning?

I am seriously considering ordering an all weather, unfortunantly it will have to be sight unseen. Forgive me if this has already been covered and yes I used the search function.
Thanks in advance for your replies

I have an older one, the heavy barell bench mark classic. The newer ones have an action similar to an M1. The action is still blow-back, but the spring is in front of the bolt, pulling it closed. The older action, the spring is behind the bolt (similar to a 10/22) pushing the bolt closed. The newer models also have a slightly camfered bolt and seem to run longer before cleaning is required.

Accuracy of both models is excellent.

Trigger pull on either model is not adjustable, and specs out at 3.5lbs on mine.

> Trigger is not adjustable, you have to play with the springs
and hammer/sear to get the effect you want.

> Don't know. I just have the newer R-55 benchmark.

What is the fit of the rifle like?
> Tight, no wiggle anywhere. The bolt may feel loose, but it was
designed that way.

accuracy?
> easily < 1/2 inch at 50 yards with cheap HV ammo on my Benchmark.

take down and cleaning?
> easy. trigger group is held with 4 screws to the receiver top.

There are no aftermarket parts, but you don't need them if the
rifle was designed and built right to begin with!

The biggest plus is the steel receiver and the threaded barrel. It
has the 10/22 and 597 beat there hands down.

The owner/operating manual is on line in PDF at www.TCarms.com

Thank you for the info so far. BTW by "fit of the rifle", I meant how well does it fit your body. ergonomically is it comfortable? or does it feel like a stock 10/22

I have the Benchmark...it's everything a 10/22 should be...right out of the box. When I bought mine, I looked at what the sucke......er...."enthusiasts" were paying to get their 10/22's to shoot decent, subtracted the price of the R-55, and used that cash to but top-notch glass (VX-III)

Sincerely, there is nothing that is not great about the rifle...buy it.

It's my second favorite rimfire ever! (Right behind my Buckmark :) )
