I've been playing with a new TC Venture ( 7mm mag)I bought a while back. When I first had it out I was sighting in with 150 gr hornady spire points. I tried a few groups and the best I got was 1.5 to 2 inch groups. Not too bad but the company claims MOA on these rifles. But I know that I am not the greatest shooter so I wasn't discouraged.

I went out yesterday and tried some 175 gr grand slams with four loads of IMR 4831. Two of the loads produced groups a bit over 1" ( Covered by a looney )
However with 58gr and 59 gr I got groups that I could cover with a penney:D

Bingo !

My goal for this rifle was a gun for hunting so it has more than met my expectations. Overall TC has a very good entry level gun with the venture. My only beefs are that the clip is a bit cheap and the stock feels slippery. The trigger is moderately acceptable and does not change when adjusted.

Has anyone else tested out one of these ? If so what have you found ?

NB: All groups were 3 shots at 100M with a 20 min break between groups. I like to measure groups with coins
1" covered by a quarter
1.25" covered by a toonie
.75 covered buy a penny

Its not exactly precision but it works for me

I have a Venture in 30-06. I will never be a competition shooter by any means... the times this gun doesn't shoot inside 1" @ 100 yards, it's my fault. I have put 5 shots inside an inch a few times...other times I will have 2 bullet holes touching and the third shot will be off about an inch. I'm pleased enough with the gun.
As you said, the magazine and stock are nothing to write home about... but I think it will make a fine hunting gun...I hope so anyway lol.
