I see TC has a value priced rifle claiming to have the quality of the Icon. Reviews seem to be good but I was wondering if anyone had some first hand experience with the Venture or the Icon.

Venture or the new savages with the accustock ?

I'm in the market for a new rifle and am trying to narrow down the options.

I would take a TC anyday the venture looks to have many of the same features of the Icon, without the wood stock. TC's customer service is second to none with my firsthand experience. I needed to replace some screws so I called to see if I could buy them they took my address and sent them to me free of charge. And have done this twice for me for two different rifles and always very pleasant.

What is the price on the TC Venture these days?

And who carries it in Canada?

I see Wholesale is only listing the Icon.

Well that backorder thing kind of seals it. Usually the best price is from one of the big suppliers and as usual anything you want is unavailable. I got the cabelas catalog today and a pile of guns they have listed are on back order.

If anyone else knows where to find one under $600 let me know. I'm pretty open to caliber as long as its a good deer round with a little extra oomph than a .243 in it.

I handled a pre-production one last winter. Should be an alright rifle that will compete with the Rem 700 SPS, T3 lite, Savage arena

I remebered were else I saw them it was on another site thegundealer.net they said they have them in stock i'm not sure of the price though.

I own an icon with the ultrawood stock, awesome piece of kit, venture very similar and still has 1MOA guarrantee, same clip but metal is not polished so fine. Well worth the money.

I handled a pre production version of the Icon several years ago at the 2007 ATA show in Atlanta Georgia. I was very impressed with the rifle at that time but I have never seen one since. I now own a TC Pro Hunter muzzle loader and I think my next centrefire will be the Venture. It will be a while though as I have other things on the go right now...like feeding my hungry kids!
