Hey guys,

I am interested in taking the Dynamic Shotgun I course that TDSA offers out of Silverdale. I was wondering if any CGN'ers had attended and what I could expect from the course.

I am also curious about the dynamic course II but the website has no information.

I just picked up an 870 Police Magnum and want to put it (and myself) through the paces.

Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

You will shoot about 700 rounds

You will learn proper stance, grip, recoil management, cycling your pump efficiently, speed reloading, and target transitions

Shotgun 1 is a static course, so you won't be running and gunning

870 Police will work fine.

A lot of guys bring multiple guns, both pump and semi. Having a backup is always good for training courses.

The current instructor is an extremely good 3 gun competition shooter

I took this course a few years back at Silverdale, with my police magnum. Can't preach enough good about any of Scott's courses, i have always walked away improved with new knowledge to build on.

Shotgun 1 will teach you the up close basics, proper stance/mount, recoil control, target transitioning, speed loading. Expect to put your new gun through the paces and walk away with a huge smile at the end of the day.

Did it. Its a fun course. Useful for the basics. Take shoulder protection and use it, your body will be absorbing ALOT of recoil. It will make the day much more enjoyable, the shoulder can only take so much.

I was wondering how I would be feeling after 700 rounds. Anyone take the Dynamic II course (or know any details of it ?) I want to be very competent in the use of my 870. Does it cover the same material more in depth ? Or does it expand more into the movement side of "dynamic"
