Some pics of the new ts200 sights

Good to see the site back up, thanks.
Well I got my new Tech Sights from the US and I found it to be well made. And I like the look of it. Kinda looks more military. The only draw back is the cutting of the receiver cover latch pin so you can remove the whole pin to use the hole to secure the sight. The rear sight has to be removed too. Both alterations can be undone. The sight radius is increased and the sight picture, though very different, looks like it should work well. I might look into the Williams front post but only after trying this set up first. I always thought the SKS rear sight set up was pretty difficult to use properly. So now to shoot it. The proof is in the pudding or in this case will be on the target. There was no problem with the retailer but expect to wait on customs. Pete

Don't buy the TS100 sights. The apeture is far to low to be usefull on the SKS. I have several and I found that upgrading with the ts220 elevating appeture was esentual to getting the rear sight high enough to see the front sight.
And you don't have to grind off the retaining pin on the SKS top cover latch lever. It drives out. I ground one off, then reinstalled it by finding the off side and using a pin punch to drive the small pin out.
The Tech ts200 sights are excellent value for the SKS.
It is much easier and more secure than drilling and tappeing for a lyman SKS receiver sight.

While neat, am I the only one who prefers good old commie post and notch over GI aperture? I prefer it almost every time, I find it quicker, and find it to have a far better sight picture. (For me) I would honestly prefer an AK type sight system for my flattop AR's if they made it.

x2, i cant stand aperature sights but i love mauser type sights like the sks has. I find them much faster and easier to use and for some reason i have more confidence for long range shots when i use them.

cz52 "Man, the sight of the stripper clip prepared to be loaded, makes me wanna get one of the classic SKSs; I've been too preocupied with the "modern" SKS D."

I just got one too. The insertion of the mag into the well is pretty tricky and I can see it'll take some training to get that down pat. I can see that the hi cap mags would be easier to grab
