So I purchased a Brno .22 via an on-line auction and it had a funny old scope on it which turns out to be a "Telescope No. 78 MK1 for Carl Gustav M48 84mm Recoilless Anti-Tank Launcher" as can be seen via this link http://tinyurl.com/mosmflk

It's really not suitable for a .22 and I am thinking of passing it on, does it have any value to a military collector?? Or do you really need the Carl G to go with it??

Thanks for your input....

May be some collector value there or possibly some re-enactment groups or air-softers might be interested. It could possibly be used for a 6.5mm rifle as the insert rounds for the CarlG used to be 6.5 but I'm unsure of the case length. The insert rounds were designed to have the same trajectory as the actual 84mm AT rounds and we used to ping them off of the old tank targets. 6.5mm rounds were far less expensive than 84mm rounds ;-)

If they are asking 170 quid for it, one would assume that it would be of some value to a military collector.
But six quid here:

Haven't seen one of those since my Jr. NCO Course at the CMBG Battle School in Germany!

While I was infantry trained, I transferred to Signals and became a Lineman/Cable Splicer. In the Battle School, a Carl Gustaff Anti tank gun was dropped off on my bunk along with the manual and my task was to give a lecture on bore sighting the scope the next morning! The instructor was Infantry, of course.

After my initial panic, I sought out the advice and expertise of the infantry types and got the run down. That was the idea - to get us to co-operate and learn from the other guys.
I got a pass on the lecture ....

I believe it's a 1.5x scope with a 26mm tube and a post reticle. Due to the very short eye relief, a .22lr is about the only rifle suitable to put it on.
