Full length magazine tube? Octogon barrel? Swivels? Is the butt pad plastic, rubber, metal or curved? Does it have a loop on the reciever? Straight grip or pistol grip. We need more info.

Ummm...sorry:redface: . I thought the fact that it was a newer 94 (as indicated in my post via the serial #) that it wouldnt be a metal plate/SRC and that I stated it was a 94 (did they make 94's with a pistol grip?) and stated that it had a full length mag tube that that stuff wasn't important...but I don't really know so......here goes! :)

Full length tube
Top eject
20" barrel (round)
No loop
Plastic BP
Straight grip.

Looks like any newer 30/30 I've seen...except it's in .32. Cant find any new ones chambered in this. any ideas?

Heres a pic:

Winchester dropped the .32 special chambering in the 94 in the mid '70s. I think a few special models (wrangler etc) were offered later. It is a standard carbine just in .32 special.

I think 'pre-64' really applies to the Winchester Model 70 Bolt actions and has something to do with the bolt design which was changed at this date. Traditionalists felt the pre-64 design offerred better accuracy.

So not sure if it matters regarding lever guns.

how can you tell if it's a pre-64?

Pre-64 Win 94 has a forged and milled receiver. Post-64 has stamped and pinned receiver, plastic buttplate, etc. The biggest gripe you hear is premature wear of the bluing off the early post-64 models.

I think they are all great rifles but the pre-64s are worth finding. Mine is a '62, high 2,500,000 range - the last of a breed.

Mine's a 65, I guess I just missed the boat. All my buddies think mine is a pre 64 cause it has a metal butt plate.... whatever, it works for me.

BTW, since we have all the Win 94 experts on here... check out my rifles for sale in my sig line.... I'll start my own "Tell me about this model 94.... " thread as soon as I get some pics.

? That a "dig" of some sort?
Mines not up for sale...at least not until I get out to shoot it! I just bought it as part of a collection of older .22's that I wanted and thought I'd post here to see if there was anything unusual about it. I googled, I researched, couldn't find anything in .32....if it had of been in 30/30, I never would have started the thread. I know nothing about the winnies (except that I like to trade them for marlins :D )

No dig... mine are just kinds of weirdo Winnies that I picked up yesterday... I would like to get some info on them as well... I will be asking about them when I get some pics.

The guy who sold them to me actually bought a winnie in .32 special with the funds... but his has a FUGLY ramline synthetic stock.

mine is a canadian issue (pacific rangers) with nice canadian issue stamps on it .sweeeeet I also have an early 94 with curved steel buttplate ,and octagon barrel (reeeal long) with mag tube to the muzzle OAC 85% finish bore is excellent

I think (?) that the pre 64's have the name Winchester stamped into the top tang where it comes down onto the top of the butt stock. I was told this once, but can't verify as my 94 is a post 64, ( actually 1980's)

Anyone know if this is true?
