I was checking out AR15.com and our american friends ar getting alot of different options for drop in AR-15 piston systems. Some names are ARES, Osprey Defense, AdamsArms etc...
How good are they (any reviews ?) and does anyone use one ?
Would it be possible to import in canada ?

If it ain't broken, don't try and fix it.

More moving parts on a gun that the system was not designed for.
Just doesn't sound like a good idea

Actually Eugene Stoner was experimenting with piston AR's back in the 60 when he was developing the M16.

I would consider LMT or Colt piston system but for our shooting schedules the DI works fine.

I think the new barrett REC7 system would be best. very similiar to the FN system one piece piston rod with spring, "no intermediate rod fewer parts"and a front plug so you don't have to rezero, if you have rail mounted stuff

Yes I am curious to know all these problems the LWRC's are experiencing as well.

Holy thread hi-jack batman.
Start your own thread.

A good piston system..like the HK, not only makes cleaning easy, but keeps the heat down as well.
And of course the babes hanging off your arms when they find out you own HK!
