Ok, found a local store with some Russia SKS's in stock, going to look at them here maybe this weekend. Want to go over and confirm on what to look for for referbs and qualitys.

1. I hear yall talk about a stamp mark or something like that saying its a referb, any pics?

2. A "bared" number on the stock, with a new one stamped. Is it literally a old number with a line going through it, and a new number stamping somewhere on the stock?

3. Chrome lined bores, what does it mean in regards to referbs and quality?

4. Laminated vs hardwood, does that have anything to do with new vs referb? Any pics or info on how to tell apart hardwood from laminated?
Is either a better quality stock?

5. Last, to tell apart Russian from others (norinco), Russian will have the tula star or the triangle (iz.... company) on the top of the chamber right?

Thanks

1. It is a refurbished mark. Usually <> and [/]
2. No it is ###XX out numbers on the stock it would not be a line.
3. When you look into the barrel you will see silver coating.
4. It is all preference. Laminated considered more rare and durable. When I bring a container of those Russian SKS I have 20-30 % laminated stock. Some people like the look of wood SKS and other change the stock to ATI, Tapco etc. So you decide which one you want basically.

Let me know if you have any other questions.
