Hi, I know reloaders put Tempilq inside the neck, hardly noticed when the its start to melt or change colour, what do you think if applied to the shoulder instead at the neck shoulder area. Thanks

Interesting. Since I like to remain open minded, when it comes to different techniques...I will have to try some testing on the inside of the neck.
Could be very useful information.

Inside the neck on 223. It was pretty clear to me when it melted away. I made sure to have good lighting.

it should be applied inside the case neck, putting it on the outside probably results in an incorrect result from direct flame. I wouldn't apply a big blob of it on the inside either, just enough to get a good read and easy to clean out after the job is done.

I use it inside. I use cases that are scrap to test the flame with so I don't mess good ones. The Tempilaq goes to flame just before the case drops out of the torch flame.

I will be buying the 700 Tempilaq for easier setup, zinc melts around 780F, so maybe the 700 is safer not to melt zinc, any comments?, thanks

I’ve been using 750F on the inside of the neck for close to five seasons now. I have an annealeez and set the tip of the blue flame at the base of the neck/shoulder. Between the 300 wsm, 30-06 and 7mm-08 I have the set it up each time with a timer then set the timer on the machine according.

If you do buy the Tempilaq make sure you get the thinner as Tempilaq will start to harden on you after the bottle is open. It only has a shelf life of maybe 6 months after seal is open.
