I bought some second hand 10 round mags for my single stack 40 s&w Trojan with the intention of practicing for IPSC. What is happining is that when the slide strips off a cartridge from the mag, the following cartridge is carried a little forward. This doesn't interfere with the cycling of the pistol but it creates a problem when I release the mag with a round in it. It will not drop out and I have to manually pull it out. I noticed that the mags have 10mm stampted on them. Is there any fix or do they make a 10 round mag dedicated to the 40 s&w??

I'm wondering if the springs need replacing, and if that would help prevent the following round from creeping forward.

Just a thought.

I've seen that happen to a friend of mine who owns exactly the same as your gun with the same problem.
Ask a gunsmith to look at the magazine and your gun.

For some STI reason, the Trojan single stack 40 SW frame was designed to use the 10 mm mags that they installed an insert in order to work for 40 SW rounds. If the measurement of the magazine hole in your Trojan frame was designed for 10mm dimension, you are stuck to the 10 mm mag with an insert to work for 40 SW. YOu will most likely not find a "dedicated 40 SW" mag for your Trojan. You might be able to convert it to shoot 10mm tho.... :)
Congrats on your new gun BTW.

Just a thought.... if you are intending to shoot IPSC..... why single stack instead of a double stack 1911 Standard gun? :)

there are couple of tings to look for, Spring to weak, mag lips to big, the length of ammo..at this time I don't think it's your pistol...if you still having problems I can take a look at it for you...guns, mags and ammo.

The trojan ramp is cut differently or so I was told by Tripp....I used Cobra mag's and I have to load different lenght then my Edge...the bottom line is that MY trojan like shorter ammo around 1.65" AOL I load to 1.20" for my Edge

Thanks for all the info. I had a Edge ordered from a local gun store. It had some custom features like fibre optic front sight , ss mag well, drilled and tapped mag release button and hard cromed slide. The gunshop placed the order with a $1,200 deposit on my Master Card. They told me that a 16 week delivery was the norm. I started bugging them after 16 weeks for the status of my order. At the 20 week point they phoned me and said that the Eatern distributor had lost the order. I was too disappointed to reorder.

I would have just deal directly with that eastern distributor....I'm guessing Freedom Ventures.....that way you don't get the run around....and if I was you...I would talk to Freedoms about this to see if they know anything about this screw up he is very good and I never heard of them loosing order....after all orders are his business :)

Yes, that was me. I screwed up.

Gitz, I asked the guys to pass on our apologies but now that you're here - I'd like to do it personally.

Something happened and we never got the 2 toned 45ACP Edge you wanted ordered and when your dealer called to check on it, we didn't have any record of the order. I don't know what happened; but I take the blame. Sorry about that.

If you still want the gun, go back to your dealer and we'll it make it right for you. Unfortunately, you'll still have to wait 12 weeks for the custom order to come in, but on the bright side, STI's down to 12 weeks from 16 for their builds.

I see you talking about 40s in this thread. 40s are in stock in HC (all of it) and Blue as a rule, so there's little chance you'll wait on one of those.
