This is a great deal at Tenda. $159 is the lowest price I've seen on this one.
If you haven't tried one, the stock fits really well for right/left handed shooters.

My review:
* the machining on the action is excellent. It is the best .22 LR Norinco bolt action ever made and relatively few were made.
* Because it is a little on the short/light side, its a great choice for smaller people.
* It also has a pretty nice trigger.
* these guns were greased perhaps 20 years ago, and mine had hardened grease in the extractor area that had to be cleaned out before it would extract/eject properly.
* The stock has one issue: they used washers in some cases to properly fit the action. Kind of cheesy.
* The bolt handle is a little short, but not the biggest deal.
* All indications are they are decently accurate. I have no personal data, but there have been posts on this gun on CGN.

They also stock extra 10 round mags for around 22 each, which till 2018 were impossible to find in Canada.

This is a great price; I paid 220 for one a couple years ago.

These rifles are not as old as you think, these are very recent manufacture; the earlier version with the wooden stock would be maybe 10 years.

The stocks need bedded, no question; the actions are loose and move back and forth in the stock.
The rifles are poorly balanced, they are front heavy and when you put a scope on them, they get worse.
Triggers are not adjustable, but mine was OK; not spectacular.
Screws for sight adjustment are low-grade steel with badly formed heads that are prone to stripping.
Once you get the stock dealt with, and the rifle set up, they are supper accurate; 1/2" groups at 50 yards were common.
I have since replaced mine with a CZ455.

If you don't mind tinkering, this is likely one of the best deals in canada for a .22.

Very good rifles, and at that price you should buy 2! I gave one to my brother recently for his birthday, have 2 of the NS 522's (one still unfired) so I didn't really need it.
Durham Outdoors has spare mags.

...Hmm... I felt some temptation when I first saw these, that price might put me over the edge. :) Those Browning-copy semis they had on recently, no temptation whatsoever...but I've always found the Norinco bolt guns to be decently accurate shooters.

do the mags of the EM-332A work with the ns522

Thanks guys!

Looks like 332 is a better start for the project...

Is there any preference for ammo @50m ?
Standard velocity at ~ 1070 fps?

It is my understanding that these are built on tooling purchased from Anschutz, and that most of the design is unchanged. These are way better finished than any other Norinco as far as bluing goes.

I doubt that. They did use the same action for their Olympic team several decades ago, and I don't think it's very similar to any Annie actions.
The plastic stock seems to be for a different bolt handle as well, doesn't really match up with the EM322 one.
Like anything resurrected in China, it's probably NOS actions found in a corner somewhere and thrown together.
The NS522's that came in were left over Kengs from the 90's, and also were much higher quality finish then expected from China.

I believe the match 54-30 bolt will fit right in; note the short stroke, note the double locking lugs, and the small extraction port on the action.

Damn you guys are a bad influence... I couldn't stop myself from ordering one. Should be a fun project to practice bedding on. I recall a good friend who loved his NS522 recommended I pick one of those up, silly me bought a sporterized Carcano instead. I won't make that mistake twice! :HR:

Anyone know what aftermarket stocks will work with these?
