Well, I finally got out to Danford Lake today and shot my altered Tula '51 Laminate refurb early frankepinned rifle with a trigger job and the Tech 200 peep and their thinner front post.

See http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php?t=439418

The results were encouraging since this is the first that I've shot it after doing the very simple bedding job. After putting the rifle back together after the bedding, it was a real test to see if the Tech 200 would hold its previous setting. it did!:)

First of all, I fired 5 at 100 yds and made a slight adjustment to raise the group. No, it was not a 2" group:( but more like 5". So, I then shot at a police target set at 200 yds, some 20 shots. The group again was no great shakes BUT all shots would have been disabling for sure. 12" wide, 21" high.

Louis, (louthepou) was also there introducing a neophyte to the .22LR.

A balloon of about 9" diameter was tied to the 200 yds frames, dancing a bit with the moderate breaze. I loaded with 5 and called the shot, off hand. First shot, no balloon :dancingbanana: I knew enough to stop while I was ahead ;)

As 40 rounds had been fired, I used blue Windex, hot water, the red homebrew stuff and also disassembled the action rods. I did not open up the bolt cover.

I realize that this is far from an accurate SKS rifle. My DIY bedding was marginal at best and I think that the improved trigger contributes more.

And I've proved to my own satisfaction that the bold cover can be taked off and the Tech 200 put back on with no discernible change in the earlier sight setting. And I checked the sights with by old Bushnell colimator, recording the setting.

Hopefully, a CGN Canadian dealer will bring in the Tech 200!
