The G3 measures your 22 ammo from base to ogive of bullet can be used for 22 mag as well.by changing insert.

Google G3 you can go to website, $162.0

Did 5 boxes of 50 of SK Rifle Match, After measuring rim thickness put them in G3 had 4 measurement 25.5, 27, 28 and 30.5 put in plastic container and had a few maybe 11 that were not consistent as others, used to season barrels in Anshutz 54 & 540 Remington First target on each bottom right came from a box of unsorted SK
Top left on each target was 25.5,middle left 28 top right 30.5 middle right 27.
as you see groups tightened up at 27 & 28 with both rifles.
I did same measuring and sorting with Midas + only tested 5 at 26 and 5 at 28 went to Benchrest shoot on Sun June 2 and shot match. using 26 measured.
We shoot 5 shots on a Benchrest score target has 1/2" Ten ring with small dot in center, hitting adds a x to your count used to break ties. see targets from shoot on Sun
You shoot one shot in 5 targets a n7 min time allowed, take a break and shoot 5 more shots, change Target and shoot 3 times around.
Will be trying some different ammo measured In G3 my 9 and 8 year old granddaughters Savage scout and a old Rem 581.
my shooting buddy shooting Anshutz 54 and myself are impressed with results, maybe sorting SK at 75.00 a box verses
Midas + at 200.00 would be considerable savings.

I was onto this years ago and made a long winded post that seamed to fall on deaf ears in the rimfire forum, glad to see it's coming back into the lime-lite, I have sorted SK rifle match running right along side unsorted Eley match at a fraction of the cost, you have to decide if you have more money or more time to pursue the accuracy bug

Once sorted for the best base to ogive measurement, what percentage of a box of SK ammo was "good"?

my numbers ranged from 219 to 330, but when you shoot all the same length and dial into the group they all stay together, but shortest to longest can impact 3/4 inch apart from each other at 50 meters, resulting in what looks like a flier but is really just a round with a different length to the others, but with that said, sometimes the longer or the shorter rounds will be the most accurate depending on your rifle and chamber, 75% of my case of ammo was in the middle and it got thinner going shorter and longer from 224/225, the longest of them did not shoot worth ####

Some guys posting on the Anschutz forum of RFC who measure base-to-ogive report that there is a length that produces the best results. (It may be different from one rifle to the next.) It is suggested that the length coincides with how much engraving the bullet experiences once chambered. I wonder if the best results are with minimal engraving or somewhat more?

manitou210, does the G3 base to ogive measuring tool include the dial indicator?

they are exactly right, the length of the ammo is dependent on the length of the chamber, depending on the ammo and lot number the amount of engraving will change, it's another one of those processes of elimination, the G3 tool comes with the dial gauge and is ready to use out of the box.
