so I sold a rifle to a friend of mine and he claims that the scope fogs up, is there any way I can test it to see if it does? My grandad would put a scope in the freezer for 10 mins and take it out, it would fog up the outside of the lens but if the scope was good it wouldn't fog the inside, is this true? he never trusted a scope

Scopes are freebies?!? Bot every rifle sold is wearing a 80’s vintage weaver or B&L ya know.

Always put a value on the mounted scope.
With a Leupold and their fabulous warranty it's a no brayner.
Leupolds are investmints intuh the futyer.
The rest, nawt so much.

Nawt'ard tuh figure owt…………….don'tchah no.

Yes you can toss the scope into the freezer for a bit and bring it out into a warm house. Lenses should fog up as mentioned but not the inside.

never sold a rifle with a free scope lol, scope is a older bushnell banner (B&L), I did take the scope off last night and tossed it in the freezer for 5 mins outside fogging but the inside didn't so buddy had to breathed on it and claim it fogged, either way it won't be replaced

Take the scope from the nice warm house to the outside, and see if it fogs internally. Taking it from warm to cold won't result in condensation on the exterior of the lenses.

You should avoid mouth breathers for friends.
