Well I'm not sure this has ever been done, and maybe it doesn't need to be, but what the heck! Been collecting ammo for quite some time now. Most recently been collecting old Rimfire ammo, I figured why not test the QC of old! So today I finally got to the range, I didn't get as many tested as I'd liked but I'll update this thread as I continue to test.

ALL SHOTS FROM 50 YARDS

Rifle:
CZ 457 MTR 16"
Vortex Diamondback Tactical 6-24x50
Area 419 30 Moa Rail
CZ Muzzle Brake
Yo Dave Trigger Kit
DIP Trigger Shoe

Todays test consisted of 3 CIL makes, Unsure of dates but if anyone knows feel free to chime in, Two boxes are marked CIL 1954 but I believe that's an EST date. Out of 150 rounds I had Approximately 6-7 ruptured cases right at the rim, Caught a face full of gas a few times, As well as it would drop average speed by 100fps or more, I only noticed it really affect one grouping with a noticeable flyer on the shot. The ruptured case velocities were deleted from the shot summary. The grease on the ammo in all 3 boxes had oxidized to a degree.

I shot 25 Fouler/Seasoning shots of each new type of ammo before grouping five 5 shot groups.

- Anyways. First up was CIL Canuck, No grain of bullet listed on the box but I assume its 40gr. Listed as STD velocity. Average FPS came in at 1140fps on a 25 shot string. Impressive being the advertised velocity is 1145fps
Average group size was a meagre 0.865" Not the worst but not the greatest.

Next up was CIL Super Clean, Again no grain of bullet listed on the box but I assume its 40gr. Listed as STD velocity. Average FPS came in at 1173fps on a 25 shot string. The advertised velocity is listed 1145fps.
Average group size was a not to shabby 0.679"

Last up was CIL Central V's Match Cartridges. Again no grain of bullet listed on the box but I assume its 40gr. No advertised velocities on the box, Average FPS came in at 1177 FPS
Average Group size was and impressive 0.500"

Again take this all with a grain of salt, This ammo could all be 70 years old or more, I wasn't expecting too of great things but I wasn't disappointed either and in one case even pleasantly surprised. I've shot a lot of modern ammo with worse results than these, and even some "Match" ammo with worse results than the Central V's.
