Just thought i'd throw it out there...

Would any CGN'ers be interested in Ivory grips for their handguns?

The ivory I am speaking of is mammoth ivory, so all 100% legal.

My folks do jewellry and I have aquired a lot of raw mammoth from a guy in the Yukon. Usually I carve necklaces, pendants, earrings or little figurines but it got me thinking that gun grips would be the next logical step for me :)

Anyhow, please respond and let me know.

Also if you are interested in any gun or hunting related jewelry see this post:

thank you.

Mammoth Ivory? You mean from dead mammoths from the ice age?

Yes, like from the ice age...

There is a lot of it up there in the permafrost in the yukon. When we buy nuggets to use in our jewellry from placer miners some occasionally also find tusks on their claims, so we buy that too.

I believe that most so-called "mammoth ivory" is actually artificial.

Post some pics if you can

currently at the office, will post pics later tonight.

IF it was reasonable, I would be in for a set. Nice looking material.
Do you get any molars? That would make a neet looking set of scales!
