I guess there's a serious hog problem down there if they're using belt fed 7.62mm to hunt them. Looks like fun!!! :p

 
Think they would do better shooting then talking about it. Friend of mine lives west of Dallas and takes guys out hunting at night all the time.
 
I saw this video, and passed it on to my bro, who in turn sent it to his long-time buddy in Australia. This is is a genuine, hard core Australian outback guy, now in his seventies, who has spent more nights under the stars or in a tent than under a roof. Here's what he had to say. Interesting guy...

Pig Hunting ?? bloody hell that’s not hunting, that’s slaughter ! When I was on Mt McClure Gold Mine one of my jobs was being the registered manager of the Sheep station the company had purchased to allow us free access to our pits.
The main part of the job was vermin control, the surrounding stations being only too pleased to blame us for every dingo or mob of wild goats they found on their property.
For this I bought a Brno bolt action with a five round magazine .243, In the three years of shooting every Sunday afternoon ( about the only time I had to do it) I shot 843 goats, 21 dingoes, 12 foxes 3 horses ( Brumby's,)( you would call them Mustangs)and 32 feral sheep, ( I logged every kill to show the pastoral board), I only purchased 1500 rounds of ammo during this time, distances ranged from 150 meters to about 300, the only time I used two shots for a kill was when I put an animal out of it misery, which was fairly common I might add
These blokes would use that in a night, Christ it looks like they think they are soldiers or something !
As for that bloody machine gun ! Christ I wouldn’t like to be anywhere on the property with that mob around !!
George would have called them the "load all week and fire on Sunday boys"

It DOES look like fun. I can't imagine hunting wild hogs (granted "culling") with night vision and thermal goggles with an M240, nevermind from a helicopter with an fully automatic 308 AR

 
Think I'd be more inclined to do it "outback guy" style, make every shot count. Like has been said before this is not hunting this is ADC plain and simple so cull by any means necessary.

Mine cost me 700 an hour, guns and ammo included....... It was a great experience... But been there done that type of thing..... I was in the area for work and it was convenient..... So I did it....
